What is Cydia Respring Fix?
Cydia crashes instantly when you hit the Restart Springboard button and hangs at a black screen when installing a new tweak. To fix this error, you need to hard reboot your device and then re-jailbreak your iPhone 7.
Cydia’s Respring functionality is currently broken and you need to do it manually. This is where Cydia Respring Fix comes into action.
Developer fr0st released his own temporary fix for Respring. This fix was supposed to be an unofficial alternative until Yalu jailbreak was updated for iOS 10.1.1.
However, Yalu jailbreak seems to be left in the lurch and will never likely come out of beta stage. So, using Cydia Respring Fix is imperative.
Follow the tutorial below to download and install this tool.
How to Install Cydia Respring Fix from GMoran’s Repo
Step 1 Start Cydia application.
Step 2 Go to Sources > Edit > Add
Step 3 Add fr0st’s repository to Cydia –
Step 4 Install CydiaRespringFix package.
Step 5 You are not done yet. When it has been installed successfully, DO NOT Restart Springboard. As this tweak isn’t active, it will make your iPhone to crash and restart. To respring manually, start MTerminal.
Step 6 Type su and then type alpine when it prompts you to enter a password.
Step 7 Now enter the following commands in MTerminal and press return key after each line.
killall -9 SpringBoard
Your iPhone will respring now.
That’s all there’s to it! Once you have installed this tool, follow this tutorial to make your 10.1.1 jailbreak more stable.
Remember, this tweak requires MobileSubstrate to work. It’s functionality is limited to Cydia only.
Cydia Respring Fix is available for download on http://gmoran.me/repo source for free. It is compatible with iOS 10.
