Pangu Team is Working on iOS 10.2 Jailbreak!

The entire jailbreak community is waiting for Luca to release iOS 10.2 jailbreak. Luca has tweeted he will not work on public jailbreaks anymore. As if things weren’t twisted enough, the famed Pangu Team has thrown its hat in the ring.

The Cupertino giant is aware that independent developers are close to an iOS 10.2 jailbreak. Apple continues to release security updates for iOS 10. However, it seems that the Pangu team, whose most recent achievement was hacking iOS 9.3, are very close to develop a jailbreak for iOS 10.

Pangu Team is a group of 3 Chinese hackers who developed Pangu jailbreak tool for iOS 8 and 9. Thanks to them, users can have full access to iOS, install unofficial applications, themes and extensions that are not available in the App Store.

For those who are not familiar with “jailbreak”, it is a process to remove security restrictions by modifying the kernel. Since the first tool was launched back in 2007, iOS hacking has evolved a lot. With Apple imposing advanced security restrictions on its mobile operating system, exploits are hard to come by.

There was a time when jailbreak teams used to compete with each other to release a tool. Those times are long gone now.

Multiple Exploits found in iOS 10

Apple has repeatedly bragged that iOS 10 is the most secure version released to date. However, many rumors have surfaced of possible exploits in their security found by different developers. In December, Apple stopped signing iOS 10.1 and 10.1.1. Downgrading will no longer be possible if you update to iOS 10.2.

Last month Luca Todesco launched Yalu jb for iOS 10.1.1. A few days ago we learned that Yalu iOS 10.2 jb will be released soon. Luca Todesco also said that it will not work on iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. So it is recommended that users of these devices do not update iOS 10.1.1.

Where’s the jailbreak community headed?

One aspect to consider is that if you upgrade to iOS 10.2.1, the jailbreak tool for iOS 10 will not be effective. That is why some rumors indicate that Pangu could be waiting for Apple to release version 10.3 to release the tool.

In any case, it seems that soon we will get a working tool for iOS 10.2. Pangu team has surely given the jailbreak community a glimmer of hope and we are waiting impatiently for a jailbreak. Hopefully, it is only a matter of time till we get our hands on a stable tool.
