Q. extra_recipe jailbreak is not working on my iPhone 7. How do I fix it?
A. You can try the following fixes –
- Firstly, make sure you are using the latest beta 4 version. Follow this installation tutorial and then try opening it again.
- Hard reset your iPhone 7/7+ if it does not work on the very first try.
Q. extra_recipe application crashes the moment I launch it. Am I doing something wrong?
A. No, just keep at it and try a few more times. It will eventually work. If it still doesn’t work, reboot your iPhone and then retry.
Q. I was able to run extra_recipe+yaluX on my iPhone but it got stuck on a white screen. What’s causing this issue?
A. If you get stuck on a white screen, your device may be in jailbroken mode. Just wait for a minute and then kill the application manually from App Switcher. Afterwards, try opening Cydia and see if it works.
- If Cydia opens, your iPhone is in jailbroken mode.
- If Cydia doesn’t open, your iPhone is not in jailbroken mode so try again.

Q. What is the difference between mach_portal and extra_recipe+yaluX?
A. The main difference between these versions is –
- Substrate launch mechanism – extra_recipe+yaluX enables Substrate automatically whereas mach_portal doesn’t.
- Stability – extra_recipe+yaluX is more stable than mach_portal.
Q. Does it enable Substrate automatically?
A. Yes, the latest beta 3 version enables Substrate automatically. However, if you are using the older version, you will need to enable it manually.
I highly recommend you upgrade to the latest beta as soon as possible.
Q. Does extra_recipe+yaluX support iOS 10.0.1 and 10.0.2 firmware versions?
A. No, this version is only compatible with iOS 10.1 and 10.1.1. (Update – These versions are now compatible if you use beta 4 update.)
Q. Is extra_recipe+yaluX stable on iPhone 7?
A. It’s more stable than mach_portal but you can experience bugs during the jailbreak process.
Q. How do I know if my device is in jailbreak mode?
A. If all goes well, you will get a black screen for a few seconds and then a Respring logo will appear.
After a minute, your device will be put in jailbreak state. If Cydia opens, you are good to go.
Q. Do I first need to install mach_portal before using extra_recipe+yaluX?
A. Yes, installing mach_portal is a must. The extra_recipe+yaluX jailbreak does not install Cydia out of the box (Update – The new version installs Cydia).
Using mach_portal first will ensure that you have Cydia installed on your iPhone.
Q. Can I use it instead of yalu102?
A. No, extra_recipe+yaluX is only meant for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus users on iOS 10.1 or 10.1.1. yalu102 is already quite stable.
Q. Can I use Cydia Extender to install extra_recipe+yaluX instead of Cydia Impactor?
A. Yes, it’s perfectly fine to do so. Cydia Extender (Ext3nder) is just an on-device alternative to Cydia Impactor. You can also download Extender Reloaded Cydia tweak.
Q. extra_recipe+yaluX jailbreak is not stable for me at all. Can I switch back to ijapija00’s yaluX?
A. Yes, you can do so. However, I wouldn’t recommend doing so because it’s a bit unsafe. Moreover, Luca will push more updates soon.
Q. How can I increase jailbreak success rate with extra_recipe?
A. There’s no surefire way to get it working on the first try. You can follow the given method to increase your success rate –
- Force reboot manually.
- Enable airplane mode on your iPhone.
- Disable low power mode if it is enabled.
- Clear all applications from the App Switcher.
- Wait until your device auto-locks.
- Run extra_recipe again.
Q. My extra_recipe certificate keeps getting revoked automatically. How do I fix it?
A. This error occurs due to Immortal Cydia tweak. To fix this error, simply uninstall Immortal from your device.

what do i do??? jailbreak app i have on my screen tells me : jailbreak in blue writing
then daemons in black writing with a switch with green
then command in black writing with a switch with white and not clicked on to show green

I uninstalled immortal but the same thing still happened with the certificate missing after a crash/reboot. Is there another tweak or anything else you know might cause this? Never had this problem while using mach_portal…

My question and situation is about the same as a previous comment”’ve tried to jailbreak my i7 on 10.1.1 with no luck, i’ve tried it with both mach_portal and extra_recipe. The first time i downloaded extra_recipe b4 i got it to work after about 10 tries, however the springboard crashed 20 seconds after i opened cydia for the first time, and after that it just doesn’t work at all anymore. So after a bit of research i also tried all those tricks like using airplane mode and opening random apps and whatnot, when nothing of that worked i downloaded mach_portal, same thing here. I’ve tried this on both jailbreaks at least 50 times and it just doesn’t seem to work whatever i do. Can i somehow remove both cydia and the jailbreaks to do a fresh restart or what do i do? Sometimes i really feel like it should work because i got that circle thing spinning around which i also got when it was working the first time, but when i try to open cydia it just crashes.” can I please get an answer to this??? The only difference is I never got Cydia to install and my carrier settings such as mms and things like that are being affected please help. Thanks

It looks like extra_recipe+yaluX can’t work on iphone 7 with iOS 10.0. I got a message that 10.0 is not supported, only 10.0.0 if I correct Info.plist to 10.0.0.

Trying to JB my 7+ running 10.0.1 with the proper beta 4 from the website however I am getting a message saying 10.0.1 is under the minimum ios requirement of 10.1… Please help thank you

I still get random reboots with this version. It doesn’t feel more stable than yalu b3. Some people say tweak conflicts might be the cause, but I just can’t find any tweaks that seem to cause the problem since the reboots happened very randomly. Any suggestions?
Hello, Alan. Some you can expect reboots out of the blue on this version as well. Just like portal, ER doesn’t come with a proper KPP bypass. Hopefully the new updates will fix it.
I installed extra_recipe + yalux without machportal and never had installed mach portal before and after successfull jailbreak cydia was installed. So there is no need for installing machportal individually

Hello, Alan. Yes, you don’t need to but I highly recommend you keep both of the jailbreaks. If extra_recipe acts iffy, you can always fallback to mach_portal and keep your jailbreak running. Hope this helps.
