Another day, another tweak. This new tweak aims to bring a whole new music player to iOS. Here’s how it works.

How MicroPlayer works

There are plenty of unobtrusive music players available on Cydia. However, a lot of them are no longer updated for iOS 10 or their developers have abandoned them. This is where this new tweak comes in.

MicroPlayer Cydia tweak adds a small gesture-based music player to your home screen. It is developed by IndieDev, who is a newcomer on the tweak development scene.

This player is compatible with Apple Music, Spotify, and all other music apps. Here’s how it looks like in action.

Here’s a list of all its gestures –

• Two-finger tap to move the player around.
• Swipe up to expand.
• Swipe down to hide.
• Drag right to move to the previous song.
• Drag left to move to the next song.
• Tap to play or pause the now playing song.
• Tap forward button to move to the next song.
• Tap back button to move to the previous song.
• Hold forward button to fast forward a song.
• Hold back button to rewind a song.
• Hold to open your selected music application.

Once you install MicroPlayer, you can configure the desired music application from its Settings section. Once you do so, press the Respring button to ensure your changes get applied properly.

Updated version

Here’s what the updated version brings to your device. You can now enable and disable it in various areas of the operating system. For example, you can enable it on your home screen while keeping it disabled on the lock screen to make it look clean.

You can also enable it inside applications and specify any custom application of your liking.

The About section explains the various touch and swipe gestures you can use to alter the behavior of the floating music player.
