Download iOS 12 Beta 6 without developer account

Apple just seeded the sixth beta of iOS 12 firmware to developers. Here’s how you can download and install this update on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

What’s new in iOS 12 Beta 6?

iOS 12 Developer Beta 6 weighs around 450MB on all compatible devices and brings some new features and improvements. This version fixes the following bugs that were present in the previous beta updates –

  • Paired Bluetooth accessories may not function correctly after a reboot.
  • Using Apple Pay Cash to send or request feature may lead to an error.
  • Siri can’t open an application by name on CarPlay.
  • Some Siri shortcuts requests may not succeed.

Apart from performance improvements and bug fixes, beta 6 also brings some new features. Apple has beefed up the USB security considerably in this update. You may need to unlock your passcode-protected device before you connect it to a computer or USB accessory.

Should you upgrade?

If you are currently running the fifth beta version of iOS 12 and are affected by any of the aforementioned bugs, you should update your device. All in all, it’s a minor update and you won’t miss out on anything if you give it a pass.
