FutureRestore now supports iOS 11
As you already know, Tihmstar, the developer of FutureRestore, clarified that he will not update it for iOS 11.
Now since this tool didn’t work with iOS 11 out of the box, some users erroneously deemed iOS 11.2’s SEP to be incompatible with iOS 11.1.2.
Thankfully, a new developer who goes by the name, firstEncounter, just released a much-needed update. It will now support all versions up till iOS 11.1.2.
He patched it in accordance with iDeviceRestore. For those who don’t know, FutureRestore is built upon iDeviceRestore utility.
Therefore, all changes made in iDeviceRestore need to be incorporated in this tool as well.
The developer also fixed some bugs and made everything compatible with the latest iOS 11.2 SEP. You can now try it out for yourself and see how it goes.
Which firmware can I upgrade/downgrade to?
According to the developer, upgrading from iPhone SE from 9.3.3 to iOS 11.1.2 was very smooth.
Moreover, eminent developer Coolstar also succeeded in updating his iPad on the exact same setup.
The new fork of version 90 will allow all users to upgrade and downgrade from and to iOS 11. Here are a few use cases for this version –
- Update from iOS 9 to iOS 11.1.2.
- Update from iOS 10 to iOS 11.1.2
- Downgrade iOS 11.1.2 to 10.3.3 on A7-chipset devices (not tested yet).
Remember, it won’t allow upgrading from iOS 11.x.x to 11.1.2 because you can’t set nonce on those versions. Once a nonce setter tool drops for those versions, you will be able to do that.
Also, 10.3.3 downgrade should work in theory. However, developers are yet to try it so wait it out till I give you the all clear.

How to use FutureRestore to restore to iOS 11.1.2
Step 1 Firstly, you will need to set nonce in NVRAM.
- If you are on iOS 9, you can do this using cl0ver.
- If you are on iOS 10, you must use iOS-Kern-Utils.
Step 2 Fire up your Mac. If you don’t own a Mac, you must set up a Virtual Machine on your Windows or Linux computer.
Step 3 Follow this tutorial and ensure you change the SEP value with that of 11.2. The restore command remains exactly the same.
futurerestore -t ticket.shsh –latest-baseband –latest-sep ios.ipsw

It’s best to stay on iOS 11.1.2.

No.
I have an iPhone SE on iOS 10.3.1 and would like to go to ios 11.1.2. I have blobs saved for ios 10.3.1-11.2.1. Is it possible? If not, is there anything i can do to go to a more usefull ios than my 10.3.1. I would love to have my iphone jailbroken as my old 4s was 🙂
Yes, you can update with this guide – https://yalujailbreak.net/upgrade-ios-1033-to-ios-1112/
Thanks mate, I wasn’t sure when i saw that guide a couple of days ago becouse it says v0rtexNonce compatibility for iPhone SE is only ios 10.3.2
But if you think it works on 10.3.1 aswell ill go ahead as soon as you confirm. Thanks again
It has been updated with better support so you can try it.
Will this method work for an iPhone SE on 10.1.1?

Following the tutorial, what files do i need to select for the command?

m BuildManifest.plist -w iPhone_5.5_11.1.1_15B150_Restore.ipsw
For the XXXX i have 2 bbfw files
Mav10-6.17.00.Release.bbfw
Mav13-4.00.01.Release.bbfw
which one do I select?
Hello, Tony. Just use –latest-baseband etc like they are written. You only need to specify the firmware and SHSH files.
so
futurerestore -t 2543196311186470_iPhone8,2_n66map_11.1.1-15B150.shsh –latest-baseband –latest-sep -w iPhone_5.5_11.1.1_15B150_Restore.ipsw
I dont need to specify baseband or sep?
Yes, you don’t need to specify it manually and add “–” at the front not “-“
I’m on iOS 11.2 but I have blobs saved for 11.1.X; Wlll i be able to downgrade using this method?
No, you can’t do that.
Will this work with iPhone 8 11.0.3 -> 11.1.2?
Yes, it will but no one has tested it yet for that version.
my iphone is on 11.2 any chance to downgrade to 10.3.3
No chance whatsoever.
I have an iPhone 6s on iOS 10.2 Jailbroken, will this guide work to get my phone to iOS 11.1.2 in order to jailbreak when the time comes. I have all my shsh2 blobs saved. And should I wait till a more stable jailbreak is out before doing this process?
Yes, you can wait but SEP compatibility may become an issue.
I know it’s been a while since this comment, but my situation is close enough to it:
I’ve a iPhone 6S on 10.2 and I want to upgrade to 11.4 beta 4.
Can I do this using futurerestore? I’ve got all shsh2 blobs.
Thank you!
No, you can no longer do that.
How about 11.1.2 down to anything in the 10’s? Buddy had a password app that isn’t compatible with 11 and dev stopped support years ago.
That’s not possible anymore.
My iPhone X is on iOS 11.1.1 and would like to downgrade to iOS 11.1. Any Chances?
No, you can’t do that right now.
