What is Unrestr1ct0r?
Unrestr1ct0r is an Apple File Conduit 2 alternative for iOS 11. It is developed by hacker Jake James.
For the uninitiated, Apple File Conduit or AFC allows your computer to access your device’s root filesystem. You can then make use of utilities like iFunBox to install music, wallpapers, etc.
Apple File Conduit was originally a tweak by Saurik. He usually pushes an update once Apple rolls out a major firmware upgrade.
However, there have been quite a few unexpected events that have delayed its release further.
- Warning – I highly recommend not to install Unrestr1ct0r at this stage unless you really require this functionality. Wait for an update to drop and then install.
- An iPhone, iPad, or iPod running iOS 11-11.1.2
- Electra jailbreak
How to install Unrestr1ct0r on iOS 11-11.1.2
Step 1 Open Cydia.
Step 2 Downgrade Link Identity Editor (ldid) to version 2.0.0. This step is essential because Coolstar’s latest version of ldid is broken. Going back to a previous version will fix this issue.
Step 3 Reinstall jtool Installer if it’s present on your device. If it isn’t, simply skip this step.
Step 4 Your device is now ready to install the main package. Go to Sources and tap on Edit > Add.
Step 5 Add Jake’s repository to Cydia – jakeashacks.com/cydia and install the following package.
Step 6 Launch iFunBox or any other utility to get unfettered access your root filesystem. Remember, these tools will still detect your device is “jailed” state, not in “jailbreak” state.
The reason behind this is that these tools can only detect the original Apple File Conduit tweak by Saurik.
Since you are using Unrestr1ct0r (an alternative version), you will get that message but you will still be able to install anything on your device.

i tried all was and when i click raw file system it says you need to jailbreak your device first,
This tweak is very buggy, don’t use it and wait for a proper alternative.
when i click raw file system it says you need to jailbreak your device first,
Hi, no downgrade button showed after pressing Modify. how to downgrade? [email protected] jailbroken
Do you want to downgrade this package?
I’m able to install IPAs from my laptop to iPAD using iFunBox, but the app crashes, after being installed, when I try to load it.
Is there a way to install unsigned IPAs and then sign them once installed?
Do you have AppSync installed?
salve1 since I installed the tweak just try to open ifunbox always loads and never stops, as soon as I remove the usb cable from the phone ifunbox works regularly!
It’s not working with your device. Try using 3UTools and check if you can transfer files with it. Also, I suggest removing this tweak as it has a lot of issues.
After I did the procedure above, the iPAD cannot connect anymore to the PC via USB (neither iTunes nor iFunbox/pp25)…
Remove it in no-jailbreak mode.
How to make it works?
Is it not working for you?
No, and as I said, iPAD cannot connect to PC anymore. I didn’t find ldid2 installed on my iPAD before. I installed it from the same repo of Unrestr1ct0r. The latest version is 2.0.0 so I didn’t had to downgrade it…
Jailbreak in no-tweak mode using Electra and remove this bogus tweak.
Hello I don’t have any downgrade button for ldid please help !
