What does this error mean?
This is what the error displays –
Couldn’t resolve host name
Couldn’t resolve host ‘developerservices2.apple.com’
This error suggests that something is wrong with your internet connection somewhere. This means Cydia Impactor is not able to contact Apple’s servers properly.
Here are a few fixes that will help you solve this problem once and for all.
How to Fix “couldn’t resolve host name” Error in Cydia Impactor
Method 1
Check your Internet connection because this error indicates something is wrong with it. You can try doing the following –
- Make sure you are connected to the internet.
- If you are using any VPN (Virtual Private Network) service, disconnect it for the time being and retry.
- Use a different internet connection.
- Open your hosts file present in this location C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts. Make sure the developerservices2.apple.com host is not blocked.
If you are sure your internet is working just fine, try the following methods.
Method 2
Restart your computer. As vague as it may sound, this method does work.

Help! I really can’t figure out. Here goes: I am receiving the cannot find hostname for every site/application I try to add to Cydia. How do I change my internet connection when only working with my iPhone? I apologize for the dumb question but I am just not getting it and nobody has been able to provide resolution. I am hoping you can!
I am using iPhone 8 v 11.4.1
I want to add Copy9 ASAP.
Thanks!!
Sorry you can’t install Cydia using Impactor.
