A new hacker has claimed to be working on an untetherer for iOS 9.3.5 jailbreak. Here’s what you need to know about it.

pr0x13 is Developing an Untether for iOS 9.3.5

An unknown hacker who goes by the name pr0x13 is purportedly working on an untether tool. This “untetherer” will be compatible only with the Phoenixpwn iOS 9.3.5 jailbreak by tihmstar and s1guza.

This tool will likely come in the form of a debian package that can be downloaded from Cydia.

Here’s what the developer tweeted.

According to this tweet, the hacker is using security vulnerabilities that are already available to the public. Since Apple patched in iOS 10.x, he will now implement them in iOS 9.3.5.

The hacker didn’t specify any release date or ETA as of yet. However, once the tool is released, it will make our lives a whole lot easier.

Who is pr0x13?

Not many people in the jailbreak community, including me, know about pr0x13. He is an unknown hacker who has never released anything for the public nor is his Twitter handle particularly interesting.

The only thing that piques my curiosity is that he is followed by Luca Todesco, the developer of Yalu jailbreak.

This lends his Twitter account some credibility and also gives us hope that he might actually release his untetherer to the public.

As of now, all famous developers seem to be working on making the iOS 9.3.5 jailbreak better. So if you are on iOS 10.3, just stay patient and wait it out for a few more weeks.

What do you think about this new hacker? Will he deliver on his promises or just disappear from the scene? Let us know in the comments section below.
