Apple will launch 3 next-gen iPhone models in 2018

The rumor mill is going crazy again now that Apple is working on the next iPhone. Here’s what the Cupertino giant has in store for us in 2018.

LCD and OLED models coming soon

As you already know, Apple intends to discontinue iPhone X sometime in the middle of the year.

Moreover, Apple will also stop selling iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 plus to make room for upcoming next-gen devices.

Apple will unveil the following devices in 2018 –

  • Successor to the iPhone X with a 5.8-inch OLED screen
  • A “plus” model with a 6.5-inch OLED screen
  • A lower-end model with a 6.1-inch LCD display

Here’s how the upcoming lineup of 2018 will look like.

All three of these models will feature the design Apple adopted for the iPhone X.

As far as features go, all of them will get all the features of iPhone X and some additional goodies except for the lower-end smartphone.

The reason behind this is that Apple wants to offer an affordable iPhone to the lower-end market segment. This smartphone will also double up as a replacement for iPhone 8.

Naturally, they will try to skimp on features and downgrade its performance by a notch as compared to the flagship devices.

When will Apple unveil these smartphones?

As always, Apple will unveil these smartphones at their September event. They will start selling them two weeks after the event.

The lower-end model will have a price tag of $800 while the other two models will be priced at around $1000.

iPhone X plus concept

This upcoming lineup will also be the last nail in the coffin for Apple’s current smartphone design.

Users will no longer be able to purchase these iPhone models from Apple Stores and retailers.

Are you going to jump the gun and go with the iPhone X or wait for these upcoming models? Leave your comments below.
