How Luminous Snapchat Dark Theme works
As you already know, the stock Snapchat application doesn’t have a dedicated dark theme or night mode.
Despite numerous requests by users, the developers haven’t included his feature and have no plans to do so in the near future. This is where this new jailbreak tweak comes in.
Luminous Cydia tweak brings a true dark mode to the Snapchat social media app. It is developed by tweak developer Chloee, who is a newcomer on the jailbreak scene.
Here’s how this tweak looks like in action.
The dark theme this tweak applies looks absolutely stunning and feels as if it’s a native feature of the app.
Moreover, it is fully OLED-friendly and will save up a lot of battery for Snapchat users who own an iPhone X.
This tweak also has a grey version that looks something like this. Though it is not completely dark, it’s great for those users who just want to theme their iPhone.

Until Snapchat introduces a native dark theme, you must search for alternatives.
If you are a heavy night user, install this tweak is by far your best bet. Highly recommended.
Luminous is available for download on Chloee’s Cydia repo (repo.hypurrr.net/repos/) for free. It is compatible with iOS 11.
If you don’t have a jailbreak, there’s nothing you need to worry about as the developer is working on a port for non-jailbroken iPhones.
You will be able to sideload the new version as an IPA file that will replace the stock Snapchat app.
How to apply dark theme to Snapchat
- Launch Cydia and add the aforementioned Cydia repository.
- Install Luminous package. If you want the grey theme, be sure to install the grey version.
- Restart Springboard.
- Once you install this tweak, your Snapchat app will automatically become dark. There are no Settings or preferences that you need to configure beforehand.
