Tweak Developer LaughingQuoll leaves the Jailbreak Community

The jailbreak community is in a really bad shape right now and it seems to have taken yet another hit! Renowned tweak developer LaughingQuoll has left tweak development completely.

LaughinQuoll quits tweak development

Australian tweak developer LaughingQuoll announced on Twitter that he is “done” with the jailbreak scene. This means he will no longer be developing Cydia tweaks for jailbreak users.

The actual announcement was made a few weeks back and he has now deleted that tweet. Surprisingly, he didn’t disclose any specific reason behind him quitting the scene.

Here’s what he posted on Twitter.

NCXI will be my last tweak. I’m done. Just done.

LaughingQuoll has also removed all his older tweets on his official Twitter handle. There are still some recent tweets but none of them pertain to jailbreak and tweak development.

He was coming under fire from a lot of members for releasing buggy tweaks and then providing poor support. And this is precisely why he decided to quit.

Will LaughingQuoll make a comeback?

Judging by his tweet, it is, indeed, highly unlikely that the talented Australian developer will make a comeback anytime soon.

With that being said, he has also hired another service that will handle the support for all his future tweaks so who knows when he might come back.

At present, he is busy working on NCXI, which will be his last tweak. This new jailbreak tweak ports the iOS 11 Notification Center to iOS 10. He has already uploaded the Debian package on Dropbox.

Therefore, anyone who is willing to give it a go can download and install it via Filza. If you decide to try it, don’t forget to send a bug report to LaughingQuoll.

It’s definitely sad to see him go as he was one of the most active tweak developers of the community.
