iPhone X2 plus and iPhone X2 will cost $999 and $899 respectively

Although iPhone X became an instant hit back in 2017 but was quick to run out of steam in 2018. Here’s how Apple will tackle dropping sales figures for its upcoming flagship smartphone.

iPhone prices set to go down in 2018

iPhone X2, the upcoming successor to the iPhone X, will cost way lesser than the iPhone X.

The flagship model will cost $899 whereas the plus model of iPhone X2 will cost around $999, predicts Wall Street analyst Amit Daryanani.

Apart from these devices, Apple will also launch a third iPhone with a 6.1-inch LCD display. This device will cost around 700 dollars.

The final prices should look something like this –

  • 6.5-inch iPhone X2 Plus – $999
  • 5.8-inch iPhone X2 – $899
  • 6.1-inch iPhone X (with LCD display) – $699-$799

iPhone X plus

Despite allowing it to post an impressive profit with a record profit of $88.3 billion last fiscal quarter, iPhone X sales didn’t keep up with Apple’s expectations.

Therefore, keeping the price below the below the “psychological barrier” of $1000 will definitely increase sales.

What can you expect from Apple in 2018?

It’s more or less confirmed that Apple will roll out three new smartphones this year. The design of these models will mark a departure from the tried-and-true iPhone design.

The word on the street is that Apple might also introduce iPhone SE2 to cater to the low-end market segment. However, Apple has denied any such reports, at least for now.

Even if you disregard market analysts, it makes a lot of sense for Apple to take the prices down a notch (no pun intended).

Also, Apple has finally managed to significantly decrease its manufacturing costs, which also signals a price decrease.
