What’s new in iOS 12.4 Beta 2?
iOS 12.4 Beta 2 comes with a build number of 16G5027i and weighs about 100MB. The changelog isn’t public yet, but there are reports of a massive amount of bugs being present in this version, namely –
- CarPlay navigation prompts are no longer suppressed and interrupt Siri commands.
- iPhone users experiencing random freezes that can only be fixed with a hard reset.
Since the public build is already out, you can grab the OTA profile straight from the “Software Update” section in Settings > General.
Alternatively, you can perform a clean restore through iTunes using the IPSW links below.

Should you upgrade?
To be honest, Beta 2 comes loaded with more bugs than it fixes. You will be much better off staying on iOS 12.4 beta 1 or even the final build of iOS 12.3, which is more stable than any beta currently available for download.
All in all, it’s a minor upgrade that doesn’t bring anything new to the table. We recommend waiting for iOS 13 as it’s just a couple of weeks away from its initial release.
