As you already know, XigTeam, a new Chinese Dev Team, has been making a lot of noise in the jailbreak community since the last week.
Recently, they set the release date on “September 31” erroneously. This created a furore on Twitter and a lot of users began name-calling them.
However, they later clarified that it indeed was a typo and the actual release date is, in fact, September 13th, 2017.
This new jailbreak will be fully untethered and will likely come as a desktop-based tool. It will come pre-loaded with a pirated app store, 5istore. Here’s what this new store will look like.

5istore is a new Chinese pirate app store and they are using this new jailbreak as a springboard. It will work exactly like Tutuapp and other app installers we currently use.
Needless to say, XigTeam will be making good money thanks to their Chinese sponsors.
Prepare your device for iOS 10.3.3 jailbreak
#1 Rev up your computer
We have become accustomed to using jailbreak apps that run after we sideload them. However, this is not the case this time around.
Since this tool will be desktop-based, you must have access to a computer or a laptop to get it working. It will work exactly like the old school jailbreak tools such as greenp0ison and limera1n.
Someone will eventually find a workaround to get it working over-the-air but that could take time.

Since most users already are on iOS 10.3.3, downgrading shouldn’t be an issue. However, for those of you who are using iOS 11 beta, downgrade to iOS 10.3.3 as soon as possible.
If you are still stuck on iOS 10.2.1, it’s time bid farewell to it and get your device to iOS 10.3.3 firmware.

I was thinking about that as well. That’s quite weird, to be honest. Different versions obviously require different exploits. Let’s wait it out, though, and see how everything goes.
