How to install Facebook Lite on your iPhone

What is Facebook Lite?

Facebook Lite version lets you access Facebook using an extremely lightweight client that’s around 5 MB in size and consumes a very small amount of mobile data and battery.

The regular client, on the other hand, weighs a whopping 522.1 MB, eating up almost half a gigabyte on your iPhone!

Facebook Lite for iOS is currently only available in Turkey, but you can easily install it on your Apple device with a sly workaround.

You just have to create a new spoofed Apple account using Turkey as your country.

Why should I install it?

1. Minimal data consumption

Generally, alternative versions of the main app are mainly released in emerging markets where the internet speed and network coverage are often limited.

How to install Facebook Lite on your iPhone 

Create a spoofed account

Step 1 Open Safari web browser and visit https://appleid.apple.com/account.

Step 2 Create a new spoofed Apple ID account using another email address of yours and Turkey as your country.

Step 3 Now open the Settings app and go to iTunes & App Store.

Step 4 Select your newly created Apple ID.

Download the app from App Store

Step 5 Open the App Store app, search for FB Lite. Alternatively, go to the Turkish App Store page of FB Lite here. Tap Open when the app displays the “Open in App Store” message.

Step 6 Tap the GET button to install the app on your iPhone.

Step 7 Open the app from your home screen.
