FacebookDarkMode – Dark mode for Facebook

How FacebookDarkMode works

Just like other popular social apps, Facebook doesn’t come with a native night mode. Facebook is yet to implement this much-needed feature despite repeated requests by users.

Thankfully enough, here’s a new tweak that will make your nighttime social interactions more productive.

FacebookDarkMode Cydia tweak adds a dark mode for Facebook. It is developed by Foxfort Mobile who is a newcomer on the jailbreak scene.

What makes it stand out from the rest of dark mode tweaks is its theming ability. It comes loaded with four stunning themes, each of which lends a new hue to the night mode.

Here’s how the themes look like on my iPhone.

Default theme

The default theme should be suitable for all users – not too dark and not too bright. It keeps the top and bottom areas dark while the actual post area remains light.

It is perfect for those who want to have a dark mode without sacrificing readability.

Black theme

This is the “actual” dark theme, which makes everything as black as possible. The top and bottom areas are slightly light which improves readability.

A pitch-black color scheme would actually make certain regions invisible. Therefore, keeping a lighter color a part of the scheme is a great decision on the developer’s part.

Monokai theme

Monokai is yet another stunning theme. It uses a cool combination of black and brown while still staying true to the night mode experience.

Tangaroa theme

Tangaroa theme uses a shade of blue mixed with black that blends in really well. I suggest using this color scheme if you want a not-so-dark mode for Facebook.

Settings

The settings section of this tweak is fairly simple yet powerful. Once you enable it, simply select any of the aforementioned color schemes and you will be good to go.

I am currently using the “Black” theme that really completes my dark mode setup.

There are some dark mode tweaks like Eclipse X or NoctisXI that let you enable night mode for all user applications. However, app-specific tweaks always perform better in comparison to system-wide tweaks.

If you are a heavy nighttime Facebook user, this tweak is an absolute must-have.

As far as Noctis or Eclipse users are concerned, you can purchase it if you want more control over Facebook. Highly recommended.
