Developer Sam has released a Substrate fix for extra_recipe aptly named extra_recipe launcher. Here’s how to install it.

How extra_recipe launcher Works

As you already know, the vanilla version of extra_recipe jailbreak is broken at the moment. It does not enable Substrate automatically nor does it allow you to install Cydia tweaks.

Moreover, there’s no way to determine if your iPhone is actually jailbroken except running Cydia.

This is where extra_recipe launcher comes into action.

extra_recipe launcher is a CLI tool that automatically enables Substrate and grants read write permissions to the file system. This will make your iPhone way more stable than before.

This launcher does exactly what ijapija00’s YaluX jailbreak does. It’s up to you to decide which version is suitable for your iPhone.

According to me, you should stick to Luca’s version because he will roll out an update soon.

Requirements

• iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 plus running mach_portal
• iOS 10.1.1 firmware
• MTerminal Terminal Emulator

How to Install extra_recipe launcher on iPhone 7/7+

Step 1 Firstly, jailbreak your iPhone with mach_portal. If you are already jailbroken, skip this step.

Step 2 Remove all “Substrate Fix” tweaks you are currently running. If you use Ben Weaver’s fixes, use Kenobi for Yalub3 package to revert all changes.

Step 3 Launch Cydia.

Step 4 Select Manage > Sources.

Step 5 Select Edit at the top right > Add.

Step 6 Add Sam’s repository to Cydia – http://samgisaninja.yourepo.com.

Step 7 Install extra_recipe launcher tweak.

Step 8 Reboot your iPhone 7/7+.

Step 9 Download extra_recipe and jailbreak your device with it.

Step 10 Start MTerminal.

Step 11 Enter the following commands –

cake
alpine  

That’s all there’s to it! Just wait a minute and it will restart the Springboard. It will automatically enable Substrate and remount the root file system with read/write permissions.

You will now be able install Cydia tweaks as you normally would.

Enjoy a stable jailbreak!

This will make your jailbreak much more stable and free of errors. Remember, this is just a temporary workaround.

The extra_recipe tool still desperately requires an update to fix numerous bugs and errors present in it.
