How Cydia Failsafe Works
Have you ever accidentally deleted or removed Cydia from your device? If yes, then you know getting Cydia back up can be quite a chore.
Even if you don’t accidentally delete Cydia, you can still be forced to remove it. This happens primarily because the Installer along with several packages doesn’t install properly. Establishing an SSH connection is not for everyone.
This is where Cydia Failsafe comes in.
Cydia Failsafe tweak is a once-click tool for reinstalling Cydia without terminal/SSH access. It is developed by tweak developer GewoonDani.
It works without iFunBox, computer (PC/Mac), iFile/Filza File Manager, Terminal, or SSH. You don’t even need to jailbreak your device again just to get Cydia back. Once click and you’re good to go.
Remember, this utility is preemptive, not reactive meaning you won’t be able to install and use it after you delete Cydia. You must install it beforehand if you want to reinstall Cydia in the future.
- A jailbroken iPhone, iPad, or iPod
- iOS 10-10.2
- Internet connection
How to Reinstall Cydia with Cydia Failsafe
Step 1 Open Cydia.
Step 2 Select Manage > Sources.
Step 3 Select Edit at the top right > Add.
Step 4 Enter the URL of GewoonDani’s Cydia repo – https://repo.d4ni.nl/
Step 5 Install Cydia Failsafe tweak.
Step 6 Cydia Failsafe’s icon will now be present on your home screen.
Step 7 Tap the icon, select Yes, and wait for your device to respring. When the process is over, Cydia will be up and running.
If you happen to accidentally use Cydia Failsafe while Cydia is still present on your device, you have nothing to worry about. This will just reinstall Cydia Installer and update it to the latest version.
Undoubtedly, this is one of the most important utilities for iOS 10 users. If you haven’t installed it already, you must do so as soon as possible.
