DOWNLOAD Cydia Eraser for iOS 10, 10.1.1, 10.2 Firmware

After tons of requests, Saurik has finally updated Cydia Eraser utility for Yalu jailbreak. Here’s how you can download and install it on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

What is Cydia Eraser?

Cydia Eraser is a utility that restores your jailbroken device to stock state without updating your current firmware. It is developed by the developer of Cydia, Saurik aka Jay Freeman.

It downloads OTA firmware files from Apple’s servers in real time and fixes any and all broken system files on your device.

Cydia Eraser will restore your iOS device to a clean state just like iTunes. The only exception here is that you won’t need to update your device to achieve that.

Remember, Cydia Eraser can not rebuild the filesystem. For example, you can’t be running iOS 10.1.1 on your device and then move back to iOS 9.3.3 using Cydia Eraser.

Personalizing kernel images is not possible because kernel’s “trust cache” validates all user data beforehand.

Cydia Eraser now supports iOS 10

It was already available for iOS 9 firmware. After a good eight months, Saurik has finally released an update for Cydia Eraser along with Cydia Impactor. Since both the tools share the same codebase, their current version is 0.9.42.

Since both the tools share the same codebase, their current version is 0.9.42.

As of now, it is still in beta development stage so a few errors are to be expected. It still works great for a beta version and will surely wipe your device after a few tries.

restore without losing jailbreak

In theory, the latest version works from iOS 10 up till iOS 10.3.3 on all compatible iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices.

However, the actual support is for iOS 10-10.2 only as no jailbreak tool supports iOS 10.2.1 or above versions yet.

The complete list of supported firmware versions is as follows.

Compatibility List

  • 10.0.1
  • 10.0.2
  • 10.0.3
  • 10.1.1 (14B100)
  • 10.2

Apple released two versions of iOS 10.1.1 – 14B100 and 14B150. At present, this tool only supports the 14B100 version. If you are on 14B150, you can still try the original version.

As far as the jailbreak support is concerned, it is compatible with the following tools –

  • yalu102
  • mach_portal
  • extra_recipe

Here’s the step-by-step installation tutorial. Remember, if you have moved your linguistic data, DO NOT use this tool.

As always, don’t forget to backup all important data present on your device.

Requirements

  • A jailbroken iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
  • iOS 10-10.2 firmware
  • High battery percentage
  • A working internet connection
  • Patience

Preparing your Device for Restore

For those of you who are using Eraser for the first time, let me tell you the restore process can be iffy. Therefore, before you download and run this tool, you must make adequate preparations beforehand.

The extra time spent on this will ensure the restore process goes as smooth as possible. Here’s what you need to d0 –

  • Disable your passcode and iCloud.
  • Go to Settings > Display & Brightness > Auto-Lock and set it to Never.
  • Make sure your internet connection has good speed.
  • Switch back to the stock iOS font if you use tweaks such as BytaFont.
  • Remove Stashing, if you are using it.
  • Remove Cydia Substrate (this step is optional). If you don’t remove it, Cydia Eraser will do that automatically.
  • Run iCleaner to clean up your device prior to restoring.
  • Reboot your iPhone, iPad, or iPod.

Time to wipe your device clean!

If your device is running slow, this is the best time to wipe it clean. Just make sure you let me know your experience with this tool.

Saurik wants feedback for the beta version so he can fix errors before releasing a release candidate.
