Curve – One Card to replace them all

Carrying all your bank cards around daily is certainly hassle. What if you could replace all of them with a single card? Here’s a new card that lets you do just that.

How Curve works

Every one of us carries at least 2 cards – a debit card and a credit card. Some of us even have more cards such as Gift cards and ATM cards. This is, of course, not practical and a security hazard no matter how you look at it.

This is where Curve comes in.

Curve replaces all your MasterCard and Visa credit/debit cards with a single card. It works with ATM, Chip & PIN, Contactless, and Magstripe systems.

They don’t support Maestro, American Express, Diners Club, etc. Prepaid cards are incompatible except for Monzo, Osper, Loot, and a few others. All in all, the most popular cards, that is, Visa and MasterCard are compatible with their application.

Here’s a video demonstration of how it works.

The whole idea is to totally declutter your wallet and improve your quality of life manifold. Here’s what sets it apart from its competitors –

  • Support for Unlimited cards
  • Ease of use
  • Solid build quality
  • Companion app for iOS
  • International usage
  • Bank-grade security
  • Impressive cashback rewards

The actual card comes with a high-quality circular shell with solid build quality. There’s also a case that you can use to carry it around with you.

You must connect Curve to its companion app on your iPhone. Here’s how you can set everything up in a matter of minutes.

Setting it up

Step 1 Download and install the Curve app from the App Store.

Step 2 Open the app and tap the Get Started button.

Step 3 Create a new account and input your details such as email address, password, etc.

Step 4 Start scanning your various bank cards using the camera by tapping the “+” icon.

Step 5 It will now prompt you to enter card-related data such as expiry date and CVV or CVC code.

Step 6 The app will now authenticate your card and make sure it’s actually yours. Every payment app has this kind of security mechanism to prevent fraud. Once the authentication process is over, you can start using your new card.

Is it worth a try?

Yes, it is. Once you get your hands on it, you will never go back. I am absolutely loving it so far!

The Curve card is currently available only in a select few countries. It will be released sometime in the next few months to the general public. I am sure it will be going mainstream once it drops.
