A lot of users are having trouble running the latest version of checkra1n on their Apple device. Here’s a quick fix that will get the checkra1n loader app up and running instantly!
While the latest build works just fine for a lot of users, some have reported issues with the checkra1n app.
Apparently, there’s a bug in the jailbreak that causes the loader app to not show up on the home screen. The checkra1n development team is yet to address this bug.
If you find yourself unable to use the checkra1n companion app, try restarting the SpringBoard or installing the shortcuts given below.

How to fix the checkra1n loader app not appearing on the home screen
Fix 1
This fix is fairly simple and straight forward.
- Simply open spotlight search and search for “checkra1n”.
- Open the app and exit it.
- That’s it. The app should now appear on your home screen. If this workaround doesn’t work for you, follow the fix given below.
Fix 2
- Disable the passcode on your device.
- Now connect your Apple device to your computer for at least 5 minutes.
- The app should now appear on your home screen.
Fix 3
Step 1 Jailbreak your iPhone or iPad with checkra1n. Follow this detailed how-to guide on how to use checkra1n on iOS 14.
Step 2 Check if the app appears on the home screen. If it doesn’t, download the Shortcuts app from the App Store if you don’t have it already.
Step 3 Install this shortcut and run it.
Step 4 Install Cydia using the loader application.
Step 5 Now install this shortcut and run it to launch Cydia after you have installed it via the loader app.
Step 6 You can now install tweaks with Cydia.
Fix 4
By default, checkra1n installs an SSH daemon on localhost port 44. You can use any free terminal app available on the official App Store to set up on-device shell access.
We will use the iTerminal app for the sake of this tutorial.
Step 1 Download iTerminal – SSH Telnet Client from the App Store.
Step 2 Launch iTerminal and select SSH and enter the following details.
- Host Name or IP Address – localhost
- Port – 44
- User Name – root
- Password – alpine
Step 3 Press Connect to enter the terminal.
Step 4 Enter the command given below in the terminal to restart the SpringBoard.
uicache –respring
That’s pretty much it. The app should now show up on your device.
