Cardboard turns your apps into cards à la iPhone X

Another day, another tweak. Cardboard brings a very clean looking app design to your iPhone. Download it for your iPhone, iPad, and iPod below.

How Cardboard works

Cardboard Cydia tweak adds a black background to your status bar and rounds the corners of the screen à la iPhone X. It is developed by Artillect, who is a newcomer on the jailbreak scene.

Although it works best inside apps, Cardboard also brings the same look and feel to your home screen as well as lock screen. In other words, it works system-wide.

Here’s how it looks like in action on iPhone.

Essentially, it’s Notchless for non-iPhone X devices and backports its stunningly clean interface. It is a modified version of NoNotch that hides the notch on iPhone X.

Once you install the package, it gets activated and working right away. You don’t need to configure any option from the Settings app to enable it.

If you want to disable it, simply uninstall it from Cydia. Your device will revert to the stock status bar look as soon as you remove it.

It is a neat little user interface enhancement for iOS 11 users. Moreover, it is fully compatible with iPhone X and LittleX so feel free to install it if you own any of these.

If you are tired of your current setup and want to shake things up a bit, this tweak will be right up your alley. Highly recommended.

Cardboard is available for download on Artillect’s source (https://artillect.github.io/repo/) for free. It is compatible with iOS 9-11.

Known issues and bugs

  • Status bar disappears on the lock screen and doesn’t appear until you unlock your device or swipe left.
  • The developer didn’t test the tweak for iOS 9-10.3.3 compatibility. According to testers, it works just fine on older versions except for a few glitches here and there.
