Appcon Tweak – Replace App Icons with Photos from Library

With the release of Yalu beta 7, many developers have updated their tweaks for iOS 10. Cool new Cydia tweaks are coming out almost daily. However, one tweak stands out from the rest and that is Appcon. Let’s find out more about this tweak.

Appcon Cydia tweak lets you easily replace app icons with photos from your library. You can change app icons in just a few taps without having any complex Photoshop skills.

This is what I love about the jailbreak community – complete freedom to customize your iOS device. Here’s a good demonstration of what can achieved by Appcon tweak.  appcon cydia tweak

The choice of icon images is truly limitless. You can use pretty much anything to suit your needs. You can also take a photo from the internet like the one shown above.

Here’s a video demonstration of this amazing Cydia tweak.

How to use Appcon Cydia Tweak

appcon settings

  • After installing this tweak, you just need to select the icon that you want to change while in edit.
  • Select an image from the library.
  • Crop or rotate it as you want and then select “Save”. (The loss of quality depends upon the quality of the image used and zoom level. If you are already using a high resolution image, there will be no quality loss.)
  • Appcon will now replace the icon image.

It can replace icons on the home screen and in folders. In just a few seconds, you can completely change the look and feel of your home screen.

Appcon works without WinterBoard, Anemone or other Cydia theming tweaks. Creating icons for Anemone/Winterboard themes requires graphic designing skills. So if you are not able to create icons for your Anemone theme, use this slick tweak.

It’s a standalone tweak and recommended for iOS theming fanatics.

Appcon is available for download via BigBoss Cydia repository for the price of $1.99. It is compatible fully with iOS 9-10.2.
