Another day, another tweak. Another developer has realized the Samsung S8 Edge notification concept for iOS. Here’s how it works.

How 3Edgy5Me works

s you already know, yesterday I posted an S8 notification concept for the iOS operating system. This highly requested feature has now been ported to iOS by not one but two developers now.

3Edgy5Me Cydia tweak adds a slick glowing animation to the sides of your display. It is developed by tweak developer Plumb Eater.

This tweak is more feature rich than Julioverne’ EdgeAlert. Herer’s a video demonstration of this tweak.

This is a neat port that actually resembles the original notification light in Samsung S8 rather than the concept itself. It’s easy to figure out the animation speed is actually identical in both these videos.

There’s not much difference between the two except the speed of the animations. In Julio’s version, the lines appear quickly whereas, in this version, the animation speed is slow.

As a side note, this new tweak was supposed to be the first port for this concept. But Julio being Julio raced Plumb Eater and defeated him at his own game!

Those of you who want a “no-frills” minimalist port, should stick to Julio’s alternative. It offers better compatibility as well.

This is a great tweak and if you don’t like Julio’s version, you can go for it. Highly Recommended.

The developer will be adding iOS 9 firmware support very shortly. He also intends to add features such as custom colors and line width.

3Edgy5Me is available for download on Plumb Eater’s Cydia repo (http://reddoorendeavors.com/repo/). It is compatible with iOS 10.
